What's New in 2017?

EventsResort Life

With each new year comes new experiences, and 2017 will be no exception. With new places to explore, we are excited to share with you what’s new and upcoming in VB!

When ringing in the New Year, it’s customary to do so with a toast! One of our newest drinking destinations is also a great place to begin your 2017 journey. Green Flash Brewing Co. opened its doors south of the boardwalk in November, and if you haven’t visited yet, you’re missing out! With a seemingly endless menu of beers brewed in their massive on-site brewing facility, this one is going to require a few visits in order to get the full experience.

For a brand new draught-drinking adventure, Farmhouse Brewing Co., in partnership with Back Bay Brewing Co., will be opening their antique doors in early 2017. Built in 1910, the farmhouse is being renovated to include a tasting room, lounges and ADA-accessible facilities, in addition to 8.6-acres that will include a fruit orchard, horseshoe area, picnic tables and more.

With the new also comes a revitalization of the past, thanks to our historic and storied property, the Cavalier Hotel, which is being brought to life as it undergoes an extensive $70-million renovation. Opening its doors as a distinguished member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, the hotel property is receiving an “extreme makeover,” including the addition of a luxurious spa, fine-dining restaurants and a bourbon distillery.

With so many new experiences, Virginia Beach is ripe for exploring, so make 2017 the year of discovery. Safe travels, and happy New Year!
